Swept vs Credo AI

Credo AI is an AI governance platform that keeps the record: the AI inventory, risk reviews and policy packs. Swept keeps that record too, and runs the controls behind it, from approved AI access and data checks on every request to bias and hallucination testing and agent supervision.

Where each one sits

A carrier's AI shows up in four places, and Swept covers all four: the AI your people use, agents at work, AI in vendor software, and the models you build, which Swept tests for bias and hallucinations. Credo AI keeps the governance records for models, agents and vendors.

What is Credo AI?

Credo AI is an AI governance platform founded in 2020 by CEO Navrina Singh. It gives risk, legal and compliance teams one registry of the models, agents, apps and vendors a company uses, then scores their risk, maps them to laws and standards through policy packs, and produces evidence for auditors.3

It is a system of record. Credo AI governs the AI a company runs, but it does not provide AI tools to staff or sit in the path of their requests, and its runtime control for agents is in research preview.12

What each does well

Credo AI

  • An insurance offering mapped to the NAIC Model Bulletin, Colorado SB21-169 and NY DFS guidance.2
  • An inventory of models, agents, apps and vendors, with risk scoring and policy packs.3
  • A vendor portal that collects AI risk evidence straight from suppliers.7

Swept

  • One place for the whole program: AI inventory, policies, risk limits and board-ready reports.
  • Models and agents tested for bias and hallucinations on your own data, before and after release.
  • Policy enforced at runtime, on every request and every agent action.
  • Approved access to the AI your people want, with policyholder data checked before it reaches any model.

Try one real task: an adjuster drafts a coverage letter from a claim file

With Credo AI

Credo AI isn't the tool the adjuster types into. If claims drafting is registered as a use case, Credo AI holds its risk review, policy checks and evidence for examiners.

With Swept

The adjuster uses Claude or ChatGPT through Swept. Policy numbers and health details are caught before the request leaves your environment, and the draft is logged for review.

Credo AI alternatives for insurance carriers

Most Credo AI alternatives cover one slice: the governance record, the models behind rating and claims, or testing. Swept covers all of it in one platform, plus the AI your staff use every day.

  • Swept

Best for Carriers that want one platform for the whole job: AI inventory and reports, bias and hallucination testing, agent supervision, and approved AI access with data checks on every request.

  • Monitaur

Best for Model risk teams documenting and validating pricing, underwriting and claims models for examiners.

  • IBM watsonx.governance

Best for Large carriers already on IBM that want model lifecycle governance. It also offers Credo AI's policy packs as a watsonx.governance add-on.15

  • OneTrust AI Governance

Best for Carriers that run privacy and third-party risk in OneTrust and want AI reviews in the same workflow.

  • Holistic AI

Best for Teams that want automated testing for bias, hallucinations and drift alongside an AI inventory.

Questions carriers ask

Is Swept a replacement for Credo AI?

For most carriers, yes. Swept keeps the AI inventory, tests models and agents for bias and hallucinations, enforces policy at runtime and produces board-ready reports. It also gives staff approved AI with policyholder data checked on every request. If you already run Credo AI, Swept can run beside it while you move.

What are the best Credo AI alternatives for insurance carriers?

Swept is the one built for carriers that want governance and enforcement in one place. Monitaur focuses on model risk records, IBM watsonx.governance on model lifecycle in IBM shops, OneTrust on privacy and vendor risk, and Holistic AI on testing.

How much does Credo AI cost?

Credo AI doesn't publish prices. Its AWS Marketplace listing describes an annual enterprise plan priced by the number of AI use cases governed, on 12, 24 or 36 month terms. Swept charges on usage, so you pay for the AI your team actually uses.

Does Credo AI enforce AI policies at runtime?

Mostly not yet. Credo AI reviews and documents AI, and ingests agent traces to flag violations. Its Agent Governor, which blocks or escalates agent actions, is a research preview with no production SLA and works with Claude Code today. Swept checks every request through its gateway before it reaches a model.

Can Credo AI find shadow AI?

Its Shadow AI Discovery is in private preview. Swept takes the other route: it gives staff approved tools, so there is less shadow use to find, and it logs what they do.

Can Credo AI be deployed privately?

Credo AI is sold as SaaS on the AWS and Microsoft marketplaces, and it documents a self-hosted install. Swept runs in a private cloud for each carrier.

Which one helps more with the NAIC Model Bulletin?

Both map to it. Credo AI tracks your AI use cases against the bulletin. Swept covers both sides the bulletin asks about. It keeps the inventory and test results for your models and agents, and it records how AI is used, by whom and with what data.

Is Credo AI a good fit for a mutual or mid-size carrier?

It can be, if you need a formal governance program. It is built and priced for large enterprises, and one independent review notes pricing may be high for some mid-sized teams. Mutuals that mainly need staff on safe, approved AI often start with Swept.
